With so many people living in Vancuver, it is not surprising to find many places of worship. You will find these places where a concentrated community is located. Most places of worship are open to the public but if you are planning on visiting them, it is advisable to wear proper clothing and obey the laws and customs accordingly.
For example, if you are going to visit a church or cathedral, do not wear off shoulders clothing and short skirts. You can go into a Moslem mosque as they have tours during the weekends but you cannot enter it during prayer times which is usually after 7pm. It is considered an insult if you wear shoes or sandals into a mosque so remove them before you do. Do not attempt to take photos if you are going to visit a Chinese temple as it is considered improper behavior.
